"FUN" Parties

Theme parties are given for hospitalized children being treated for leukemia, sickle cell disease and other chronic illnesses.  The parties are meant to bring "fun therapy" to children and their families and provide temporary relief from the burden and stress of chemotherapy, radiation, and other treatments.

On April 5, 2014 we held a birthday-themed party in partnership with Children's Hospital Los Angeles.  The patients and their family enjoyed a fun-filled day of activities that commenced with a magic show and followed by arts and crafts, caricature drawings, video game entertainment, beauty station, and a meet-and-greet with the wonderful children's book author.  Music and food was enjoyed by all.  Each child also received a gift bag filled with toys, t-shirt, etc.

Several of the patients were not able to attend the party due to..13 BMT patients were visited by our ambassadors in their rooms and got a drawing.  We reached 20 patients that were unable to attend.

With the help of our wonderful volunteers, we serviced 57 total children.

The party was a hit for the families and hospital staff.  The nurses were very happy.
